Simple rice dish made with black rice and red sticky rice.
Versatile to keep around; toothsome and chewy texture. Nutritious as well!
Put both rice types in pot and rinse well.
No need to soak.
Add enough water to cover by one inch; add in the oil.
Place pot in electric cooker, cover with lid, and add about 2 cups of water to the cooker.
Press cook button.
Allow to sit for 15 minutes before uncovering and mixing with spatula.
Can garnish with eggs, nuts/seeds, or whatever else you fancy.
Good base to use for any rice dish: fried rice, congee, or just eaten on its own.
Adding oil helps to keep grains separate and fluffy.
